Self-service kiosks open at some Harris Teeter locations
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - More self-service DMV kiosks have opened at Harris Teeter grocery stores in Charlotte and beyond.
The North Carolina DMV announced Monday, Aug. 26, the opening of three more self-service kiosks available to people in Charlotte.
The new Charlotte kiosks are located within the following Harris Teeter stores:
- Quail Corners - 8538 Park Road, Charlotte.
- Town Center Plaza - 8600 University City Boulevard, Charlotte.
- Central Avenue - 1704 Central Avenue, Charlotte.
Another self-service kiosk was already available for use in Charlotte at the Harris Teeter located in Riverbend Village (4701 Smith Farm Road). That kiosk was announced in March.
Self-service North Carolina DMV kiosks are also available at the following locations outside of Charlotte:
- The Corners at Brier Creek - 4221 Corners Parkway, Raleigh.
- Village District - 500 Oberlin Road, Raleigh.
- Cary Village Square - 885 Walnut Street, Cary.
- Highland Centre - 2800 Raeford Road, Fayetteville.
- Fuquay Crossing - 1371 East Broad Street, Fuquay-Varina.
The North Carolina DMV recently launched these kiosks to “provide services outside of typical office hours and shorten lines and wait times at offices across the state,” officials said.
Initially, kiosk users could only renew or duplicate a driver’s license or ID, or register to vote. Officials announced on Monday, Aug. 12, that services would expand at the kiosks.
Now, users can renew vehicle registrations and pay property taxes on new vehicles. At the end of the transaction, the kiosk can print a license plate sticker and registration card.
