The NCHSAA is expected to vote on a proposal Wednesday, May 3 that would allow high school athletes across the state to profit off of their name, image, and likeness.
Whenever you think of North Meck High School and basketball, most fans think of the boys program which is one of the best in the state year in and year out. But the girls team is starting to make some big time noise themselves as they are proving a point-- “They can play too.”
East Lincoln collected the school’s third state championship, rolling past Northern Nash 30-15 to win the 3A State Championship. The win was East Lincoln’s first State Championship victory since 2014.

Big South conference rivals Crest and South Point met in the 3rd round of the playoffs and in the rematch, the Red Raiders won again to advance in the 3A playoffs.
South Point goes up to Greensboro and pull a shocker as they beat Dudley. In the win, the Red Raiders put 74 points on the board against a team that only gave up 63 points the entire season.
A.C. Reynolds picks up a big win over Chambers to advance to the 3rd round of the playoffs. The loss denies the Cougars their 5th straight appearance in the 4A state title game.
