Former NC pastor pleads guilty to embezzling from church

ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A former NC pastor pleaded guilty to embezzling from the church where he once preached, officials announced Tuesday.
John Albert Jackson Senior, 64, was sentenced to nine months for embezzling from Goodwill Baptist Church in Madison. Jackson was additionally sentenced to pay $30,000 in restitution to the church and to serve 36 month probation following his release from the NC Department of Corrections.
Jackson pleaded guilty to three counts of embezzlement and three counts of malfeasance. Jackson was taken into custody at the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office to begin his sentencing.
