Feeding Charlotte awarded $950 through WBTV’s 3 Degree Guarantee
Donation paid for by McClintock Heating and Cooling
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Feeding Charlotte, a food rescue nonprofit that helps feed the hungry, received a check for $950 for November as part of WBTV’s 3 Degree Guarantee!
Feeding Charlotte was the latest recipient of the monthly donation, generously paid for by McClintock Heating and Cooling. WBTV’s weather team had accurate temperature forecasts for each weekday, except for one, in November 2025 -- leading to a $950 check for Feeding Charlotte.
The organization is dedicated to alleviating hunger in the Charlotte area by rescuing food surplus and freshly prepared meals and providing them to the hungry.
The rescued food is then provided programs that work in the community and have “established relationships with the people they serve,” according to Rich Armenia, executive director of the nonprofit.
Suppliers for Feeding Charlotte range from small businesses to large venues -- such as Bank of America Stadium, Charlotte Motor Speedway, and Spectrum Center.
“In Mecklenburg County alone, there’s about 128,000 people who are food insecure. On the other side of the issue, there’s 40% of all food produced in the United States that ends up in a landfill,” Armenia said.
“It’s probably the dumbest problem that we face in America. We kind of act as the conduit between where food is wasted, and where it’s needed.”

What is the 3 Degree Guarantee?
WBTV’s First Alert Weather team is committed to providing the most accurate weather forecast for our area every day.
With the 3 Degree Guarantee, we put money -- that is generously sponsored by McClintock Heating and Cooling -- where our mouth is.
For every weekday our meteorologists’ forecasts are within 3 degrees of the actual temperature, we award $50 to the nonprofit selected for that month.
After the month ends, we add up the total and present the check to the organization!
