The incident happened at Romare Bearden Park on Sunday afternoon.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A person has been arrested after two people were seriously hurt in a shooting at an uptown Charlotte park on Sunday afternoon.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), the incident happened at Romare Bearden Park shortly before 4 p.m.
Both victims suffered life-threatening injuries, Medic said.

The suspect was identified as Kashif Simmons. He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill/inflict serious injury, and discharging a firearm in city limits.
CMPD said the shooting happened following an altercation between Simmons and the two victims.
The Charlotte Knights game wrapped up across from the park just minutes before the shooting.
One woman was leaving the Knights game and said the scene quickly turned frantic.
“Somebody came running and they said yeah there’s shots. We have shots out there,” Lezlie Carroll said. “They immediately pulled everybody from the outside inside, immediately locked the doors and everyone got down.”
Police did say they believe those involved in the incident knew each other.
