CMPD: Man drowned while swimming in Charlotte pond, no foul play suspected
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Police are conducting a death investigation after a man was pronounced dead in a drowning in Charlotte Friday evening.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to the incident on Eagle Lake Drive around 7 p.m.
Officers say preliminary information indicates a man and his friends were swimming in a pond at their home.
The man reportedly went under the water and was later located in the water by individuals on scene.
He was pronounced dead on scene by Medic. The man has been identified as 19-year-old Andre Vernel Davis.
Police say no foul play is suspected at this time.
This is an ongoing, active investigation.
