PIEDMONT, Okla. (Gray News) - A high school student was surprised to see her brother, who had been deployed overseas for a year, dressed up as her school’s mascot.

Piedmont Public Schools shared a video that showed someone in Wildcat costume dancing during what members of a high school cheer squad thought were mascot tryouts.

The person took off the Wildcat head, and a freshman named Taylin immediately recognized him as her brother, James.

Taylin ran to hug her brother, who is a sergeant in the Army National Guard. He had been deployed in Jordan.

“We’re so glad you’re home, James!” Piedmont Public Schools posted with the video.
