Police investigate stabbing in downtown Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Police are investigating a stabbing which happened in Center City Charlotte Wednesday afternoon.

The stabbing was at the transit center located on West Trade Street and occurred around 3:15 p.m.

According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD), the 18-year-old victim was sitting on a bench and got into an argument with another man.

A CMPD spokesperson said the suspect stabbed the victim a few times.

The victim suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.  MEDIC transported him to Carolinas Medical Center.
