Remembering Click Baldwin

An icon of the local motorcycle community was killed last night in Montana.

Click Baldwin was doing what he loved, riding his Harley on the way to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, when he crashed in to the back of a car.

Baldwin was the owner of Carolina Harley-Davidson Buell Motorcycle Dealership in Gastonia and one of the most well-known, well-liked men on two wheels.

Robert D.Rayford has known Click Baldwin for 20 years, he remembered his friend, "I said 'Click, I need some gear for my bike. I need to come over to the shop and pick it up. He'd say, anything for you Bob!'"

Most of the memories he shared with us, happened on a Harley. "An experienced very professional rider with hundreds of thousands of miles to his credit, I'm sure, but he was always the life of the party."

Baldwin was the owner of one of the largest Harley dealers in the Southeast, Baldwin loved his bikes.

Friend David Badger said, "He's told me hundreds of times, he lived every day to the fullest, he lived everyday like tomorrow would never come."

Friends say his energy was endless and his love of adventure led him to the open road. It's where he lost his life, but for his friends, comfort is found in the fact he was doing what he loved.
