Cooler start this morning, saving money on your power bill

Good morning!  Kristen Miranda here.  You've almost made it to is Thursday morning, August 23rd....and there's a lot to catch you up on when you get the sleep out of your eyes and turn on the TV.

The first thing you'll notice when you step outside is that it is much cooler out there.  It feels good!  Meteorologist Al Conklin told us this would happen but I know you want to know how warm it will get today.  Al will tell you.

Sticking with that weather theme, that huge hurricane in the Pacific is expected to pass over Hawaii today.  Micah Smith is in the Alert Center tracking Lane's path.

Saving money every month is a goal, especially when it comes to the energy bill.  Micah has also been busy digging into new ways we can save on that monthly cost and she'll share those tips in the 6:30am half hour.

We're talking about the I-77 toll lane project this morning and why some people say it is already bad for business and could get worse.

Police in Charlotte are working an investigation this morning that we're following as breaking news....officers pull over a driver and everyone in the car takes off running.
