CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Knights knocked off the Norfolk Tides 3-2 Wednesday behind five solid innings pitched by Jordan Guerrero.
He gave up only one run on four hits to pick up the win.
The Knights were led offensively by right fielder Ryan Cordell and second baseman Eddy Alvarez who both had solo home runs in the top of the second inning.
Charlotte's victory Wednesday morning was preceded by the resumption and completion of a suspended game from August 1 which actually began at BB&T Ballpark in Charlotte.
The Tides were leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third when it was postponed.
20 days later they resumed and completed that game in Norfolk with the Tides going on to win 15-3.
The Knights return to BB&T Ballpark Friday to start a seven-game homestand which will be there last of the season. First in will be the Gwinnett Stripers.
