Iredell County teacher accused of sexually assaulting foster child

IREDELL COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A teacher is accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old child living in an Iredell County foster home.

Christina Davis Jolly, 43, faces five counts of felony statutory rape of a child and two counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child 15 years or younger.

Deputies say Jolly was an Iredell-Statesville School System teacher at the time but the victim was not her student.

Officials received a report on April 29 that a 15-year-old living in an Iredell County foster home was possibly sexually assaulted by Jolly. "Based on the child's interview at the Dove House Children's Advocacy Center, it was determined Christina Davis Jolly, was engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a juvenile male," deputies say.

Jolly reportedly attempted to stay in contact with the juvenile through social media. Deputies seized several computers and other electronic devices from Jolly's home after obtaining a search warrant.

The offenses reportedly happened between August 2017 and July of this year.

Jolly was charged Wednesday and placed in the Iredell County Detention Center and given a total bond amount of $275,000.
