BOONE, NC (WBTV) - Appalachian State junior cornerback Clifton Duck got some huge recognition Friday, being named to the College Football America Yearbook FBS Preseason Dream Team.

Duck is tied for first place nationally with 11 interceptions since the start of the 2016 season. In that same time period, according to the PFF College Football site, he leads FBS defensive backs by allowing a passer rating of just 50.4 when he is targeted with a throw.

Alabama's Minkah Fitzpatrick was second in that time frame and he was the 11th overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Duck has already been named to the Jim Thorpe Award watch list. He's also been named Preseason Defensive Player of the Year from the Sun Belt Conference and second-team All American from Street and Smith.
