CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Knights hosted the Indianapolis Indians Friday starting off a three-game weekend series with fireworks scheduled after completion of the game.
But there were plenty of fireworks during the game with a whole lot of offense on both sides.
Jordan Stephens started on the mound for the Knights and went five and two/third innings giving up three runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts.
He left the game with a 5-3 lead thanks to two home runs from Knights leftfielder Eloy Jimenez in the first and fifth innings.
But the Knights bullpen allowed the Indians to tie it up with a run in the 7th and 8th innings eventually sending the game to extra frames.
The Knights would win it in the bottom of the 10th with a walk off sacrifice fly for a 6-5 final.
Same teams play again tomorrow night at 7:04 p.m. at BB&T Ballpark.
