CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Knights shut out the Pawtucket Red Sox by a score of 3-0 on Wednesday night in game three of their four-game series from BB&T Ballpark in Uptown Charlotte.

RHP Spencer Adams tossed six shutout innings en route to his second win of the season with the Knights.

Adams, 22, allowed just six hits on the evening and struck-out two batters. The Charlotte bullpen was sharp in relief of Adams.

RHP Rob Scahill allowed just two runs over two shutout innings, while RHP Thyago Vieira earned his team-high sixth save of the season after a perfect ninth inning.

Offensively, the Knights scored three runs on just four hits, but it was enough for their 44th win of the season.

Shortstop Jose Rodon put the Knights on the scoreboard in the sixth inning with his team-high 10th home run of the season.

Left fielder Jake Elmore and third baseman Patrick Leonard each drove in a run to help pace the Charlotte offense.

The Knights and Red Sox will wrap up their four-game series tomorrow night at BB&T Ballpark. First pitch is scheduled for 7:04 p.m.
