CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - The Charlotte Knights closed out their weekend series with Durham on Sunday, falling 7-6 after a bottom of the ninth rally from the Bulls.
The game saw the return of Eloy Jiménez, the top prospect in the Chicago White Sox system, after being activated off the disabled list before the game.
Jiménez went 2 for 5 with a double and a run scored. The Knights tallied six runs on 11 hits in the game, including a home run from second baseman Eddy Alvarez, his fifth of the season.
Center fielder Jacob May went 1 for 5 with a double, and White Sox outfielder Nicky Delmonico continued his major league rehab assignment and went 2 for 4 with two doubles and a run scored
Right-handed Pitcher Ian Hamilton, who entered the game in the bottom of the ninth inning with seven-straight scoreless appearances to begin his Triple-A career, allowed three runs on three hits in the final frame.
Hamilton gave up a game-winning, two-run double to Jeremy Hazelbaker in the inning and was saddled with the loss.
With the loss, the Knights settled for a split of the four-game series.
Charlotte will now return home to BB&T Ballpark to open a seven-game homestand on Monday night.
