ATLANTA (WBTV) - The Atlanta Braves defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks 5-1 in a much needed win on Sunday in Atalnta, entering the All-Star break on a high note after going 2-8 in their last ten games.

The third inning proved to be a big one for the Braves offensively, as they would finally break through against the Arizona pitching staff.

Ozzie Albies got a triple thanks to a throwing error by Jake Lamb, Dansby Swanson scored and the Braves would take a 2-0 lead.

Two batters later, Freddie Freeman brought home Albies with a double to right field. Then, Nick Markakis kept the line moving with an RBI single to center field, giving the Braves a 4-0 lead.

Julio Teheran also turned in a stellar performance, tossing six and one-third scoreless innings.

Less than two weeks ago, Atlanta owned the National League's best record, but their recent struggles have put them a half-game behind the first-place Phillies entering the second half of the season.

Both Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis will start for the National League in Tuesday's All-Star game. Ozzie Albies and Mike Foltynewicz will serve as reserves for the game.
