BREAKING NEWS: We're live in Salisbury on what has been an intense scene at the Harris Teeter on Jake Alexander Boulevard West. A man was holding some employees hostage and police ended up shooting the suspect. WBTV's Caroline Hicks has been getting answers from investigators on what happened and whether the store will be opening today for customers. Watch for her live reports from the scene.

RNC in Charlotte: We have been reporting on the bid to host the Republican National Convention in Charlotte. This morning we now know how Charlotte City Council will vote come Monday, when they decide whether they're in favor or against hosting the convention.

A NoDa business owner believes something was stolen from his property -- An LGBT pride flag, mysteriously missing from its spot out front of his shop.

NOW: Protests are taking place now in the UK over President Trump's visit there. We'll have breaking development from the Alert Center.
