BREAKING: Journalists identified after 'targeted attack'

Hello everyone. This is Christine Sperow. It's Friday, June 29. Here is a first look at the stories we're following now on WBTV News This Morning.

BREAKING NEWS: Family members and former co-workers are recalling the professionalism of the employees slain at a Maryland newspaper. Four journalists and an assistant sales manager were killed Thursday at the Capital Gazette in Annapolis. We have the names of those victims this morning. Also we have new info on why officials are calling this a 'targeted attack' when the gunman fired shots into the Capital Gazette newsroom.

TRAFFIC ALERT: Old Statesville Road is closed between Reames Road and Hucks Road. A dump truck entered the roadway with it's bed still up and it knocked down two power poles. Power is affected in the area. We'll have updates from the scene.

A pedestrian was struck and killed earlier this morning in Charlotte. Police happened to be nearby and saw the driver try to take off. WBTV's Caroline Hicks has a live report from the scene.

Vice President Mike Pence is doubling down on the Trump immigration policies. We'll tell you what Pence said in his speech during his visit to a Latin American country.
