HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - For the last 12 years, the Huntersville Police Department along with Huntersville Fire have hosted "Safety Town" as a way to teach pre-k kids about safety.
In the sessions, kids learn about gun safety, fire safety, and pedestrian safety with a life-like road course.
The 4 and 5-year-olds ride around on tricycles and practice obeying traffic signals and stop signs.
"Everything we're doing is already paying off for them," said Officer Robert Moorer with Huntersville Fire.
