57th homicide in CLT, fire closes medical plaza

We just heard from CMPD that an accident we have been keeping an eye on overnight on Brookshire Boulevard near I-85 is a pedestrian hit and killed by a vehicle. This is a busy area that's part of a construction detour...so we'll be watching this closely all morning.
Our Kristen Hampton is on the scene of a shooting in northeast Charlotte - someone killed at an apartment complex. This is the 57th homicide of the year in the Queen City and this morning we are also getting new information about the 56th homicide.
There's been a fire at the big medical complex on the campus of CMC Main and that has forced doctors to cancel all appointments there today.
