Huge response from NASCAR to help at a #MollysKids funeral

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - If you ask them, they will come.

The response from the loving NASCAR community to help with 5-year-old Jake Leatherman's funeral has been nothing short of remarkable.

His service is set for Wednesday at noon at Drumm Funeral Home in Hickory. The burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

I don't want to give anything away. But I want you to know that after posting about Jake last night (read here >>, NASCAR drivers, crew members, wives of drivers, fans and even some race team owners reached out.

For as horrific as this time is for his mom Crystal, dad Wayne, and 9-year-old sister Josie, the response from you guys is making their whole family feel hugged in a way "words can't describe".

We're going to do this guys. I think we're going to get this done. We're going to help Crystal "send her son home" in the way she wants - surrounded by race suits, and maybe even have Jake wearing one.

As you can see here, race cars were his very favorite thing.

The power of Facebook, #MollysKids and YOU.
