WEATHER: Brief warm-up to be followed by brief cool-down, rain chances remain low

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A front approaching today will turn our wind more out of the west and southwest, which means this afternoon's highs will be above early week levels. Many spots (outside of the mountains) flirt with 80° for afternoon highs, making today the warmest day of the week.

Tonight won't be quite as cool either, as lows hold in the mid 50s making for a milder Friday morning commute.

Behind the front, a reinforcing area of cool high pressure builds back in for tomorrow. This will drop temps back into the low 70s Friday and even upper 60s Saturday. A small disturbance skirting by to the west could maybe touch off a mountain shower in a couple spots Saturday, but other than that our rain chances look slim to none over the week ahead.

We'll start to warm up again Sunday through Tuesday as highs will approach 80° again by early next week with mornings in the upper 50s.

Have a great day!
