CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Rayquan Borum, 21, has been indicted on a charge of murder in the death of Justin Carr, the 26-year-old shot during protests in uptown Charlotte over the death of Keith Lamont Scott.
Borum was indicted Monday, according to the Mecklenburg County District Attorney's Office.
Borum is accused of shooting Carr in the head on Sept. 21, resulting in his death. Borum later admitted to the act, prosecutors say.
Carr was shot around 8:30 p.m. on East Trade Street. Just before 6 p.m. the next day, sources close to Carr's family confirmed he died. Scott was fatally shot by Charlotte police the day before the violent protests erupted
According to Time Warner Cable News, seven law enforcement officers were injured during that night's protests as well. Two employees at the Hyatt House on the 400 block of East Trade Street were also injured.
