CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A source connected to the Keith Lamont Scott case says a photo obtained by WBTV appears to show a gun next to the 43-year-old's body after he was shot Tuesday night.
The photo shows the gun-shaped object next to a body.

Whether or not Scott had a gun has been a bone of contention between protesters, Scott's family and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.
Scott's family has repeatedly said he did not have a gun. Instead, according to the family, he had a book. That's not the case, according to CMPD Chief Kerr Putney.
"I can tell you a weapon was seized, a handgun," Putney said, "I can also tell you we did not find a book that has been made referenced to."
Protests against Scott's death have continued Wednesday night.
