Car dragged 200 feet under tractor-trailer in Burke County
BURKE COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - When you see pictures of what happened to a Ford sedan in Burke County, it's amazing to find out that the driver of the car is OK.
Lovelady Fire Department Chief Winfield Abee said the wreck happened right in front of the firehouse around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials said the driver pulled out onto Malcolm Boulevard from Campus Street into the path of the big rig.
It appears that the car got caught under the truck and dragged close to 200 feet. He had to be cut out of his vehicle. Officials say he was not severely hurt, but was taken to an area hospital for observation as a precaution.
The driver of the car was charged with failure to yield.
