1st Annual 'Wiffleball Y'all' tournament in uptown Charlotte
CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - It's been called a "First Ward Field Day for Grown-ups." The first annual "Wiffleball Y'all" tournament in uptown Charlotte proved to be a success for Levine Properties.
Daniel Levine said the idea of wiffleball was posed to him and he thought it could be fun.
"I'd heard of wiffleball but never actually played it," Levine said.
Eight teams competed in this year's tournament, including STAX, Google Fiber, Perkins+Will, UNC Charlotte Center City, Lineberger Dentistry & Orthodontics, Rodgers Builders, Foundry Commercial, and ColeJenest & Stone.
Teams of local businesses paid to sponsor a team in the tournament.
Levine said the proceeds go to benefit the Levine Children's Hospital and Autism Speaks.
