CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A fire broke out at a vacant northeast Charlotte home Tuesday morning, causing "significant damage," the Charlotte Fire Department says.

Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire at a home on N Graham Street at Allen Road South around 6 a.m. Smoke and fire was coming from the home when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters say the attic and the front of the home sustained the most damage.

No one was injured at the scene. Charlotte fire searched the home and found no trace of anyone inside.

Investigators are working to find the cause of the fire by sifting through charred objects from the home's first floor.
