One suspect arrested in northeast Charlotte shootout

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - One man has been arrested for his alleged involvement in a northeast Charlotte shootout.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police say two people from two groups were shooting at each other in a shopping center parking lot Saturday afternoon.

Robert Jackson, 34, has been charged with possession of a firearm by a felon.

When police got to the 600 block of W. Sugar Creek Road, they found vehicles damaged by gunshots. According to reports, two men got into an argument inside a store, it continued into the parking lot. Police say the men got guns from their cars and started shooting at each other. Then, the suspects ran away.

Police say this was not random, the people involved knew each other.

According to police, no one was injured.
