CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - A fellow soldier in the Army National Guard with Semantha Bunce says she is now out of intensive care. Bunce was shot at her home during an attempted burglary earlier in the week.
Hollie Ritchie says she serves with Bunce in the Army National Guard. She started a GoFundMe page to help Bunce which, so far, has raised over $5,000. That's good news, as the Bunce family has been at Semantha's bedside in the hospital since she was shot by home intruders Tuesday morning.
Ritchie says she spoke with Semantha's husband, Paul Bunce, and was told Semantha is awake and talking. Her kids were also in route to see her because she is doing so much better.
Paul Bunce told WBTV Wednesday that his wife is a fighter. He said she had her first surgery Tuesday and would have another one Thursday.
