HUNTERSVILLE, NC (WBTV) - Officials say they don't know what started a farmhouse fire Saturday evening in Huntersville.

The fire was first spotted by people at the Renaissance Festival, fire officials say.

The Huntersville Fire Department first reported the fire as an outside fire and crews say they notices a column of smoke when they were responding to the scene.

When they arrived at 5:39, firefighters say they found a farmhouse fully involved. It took about 45 minutes to control, but the house is a total loss.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
