WBTV and Harris Teeter are teaming up to help those affected by the catastrophic flooding in the Carolinas. Donations will benefit the Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. Please help by donating $1, $3, or $5 in-store or use Harris Teeter's online shopping tool, Express Lane.
Several other agencies are accepting donations to help the victims of the catastrophic flooding in the Midlands of South Carolina.
The best way to help is with a monetary contribution. Several approved agencies are listed on South Carolina's Emergency Management Division's website.
United Way has said that 100 percent of donations made here would go to relief effort.
The Palmetto SC Region of the American Red Cross, which provides services to SC residents including disaster relief is taking donations here.
The Salvation Army is taking donations for flood victims here.
The Better Business Bureau (BBB) advises if you want to help, make sure you connect with a honest organization. BBB warns not to give money to telemarketers because most of those companies keep the money. The BBB recommends working with charities experienced in disaster relief and tax-exempt charities.
