Study: Dirtiest places on airplanes, airports

(WBTV) - Germophobes... turn away. We're about to lay down some hard truth.

Germs are everywhere.

To prove that point and find the dirtiest places when you travel, TravelMath.com took swabs to airplanes and airports.

"There is perhaps no better setting to demonstrate this than where people from around the world come together as they travel between cities, states, and countries," the travel website said.

The site sent a microbiologist to take samples from five airports and four flights. They ollected 26 samples, but it did not name which airline, airport the samples came from.

The general consensus from this study: airports and airplanes are dirtier than your home.
