Police: Man stabbed during fight over 'knock out' video posted online
MONROE, NC (WBTV) - A Union County man is jailed, accused of stabbing another man, after a fight reportedly broke out over a video posted on Facebook.
According to police in Monroe, officers were called to a home along the 600-block of Kerr Street Monday night around 10:35 p.m. to the report of a stabbing.
When officers arrived, they found Johnathan Fincher, who had a stab wound in his lower back.
That's when officers say they found 56-year-old Tony Featherson sitting on a chair with large kitchen knife under the chair.
Police say Featherson had been involved in a fight with a third person over the weekend and was reportedly hit with a chair and knocked out. Featherson told police video of the incident had been posted on Facebook.
Featherson says he went to the home Monday night about the video. That's when Fincher reportedly tried to intervene in the argument and was stabbed.
Featherson was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. He's being held in the Union County jail under a $10,000 bond.
Fincher was transported to Carolinas HealthCare System-Main. It's not clear how serious his injuries were.
Police have not found video of the knock out that reportedly started the second fight.
