TROUTMAN, NC (WBTV) - A woman was airlifted to a Charlotte hospital after a head-on collision on I-77, according to officials.
The crash happened around 9 p.m. on I-77 exit 42, which is the South Main Street/Charlotte Highway exit in Troutman.
Investigators say a truck crossed the center lane and hit a Jeep head-on. The driver of the truck, who has only been identified as a woman, was airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center-Main. Her condition has not been released.
The driver of Jeep had minor injuries, officials said.
Main Street in Troutman was closed for about an hour while crews worked the scene.
Troopers say charges are pending.
