A man is charged after more than 14 pounds of marijuana was found a Catawba County home.
Cameron Lashawn Baker, 25 of Hickory, is charged with trafficking marijuana and possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana. Baker was arrested Friday after a search warrant was executed for a home on 3rd Street Place SW in Newton.
Investigators located and seized 14.77 pounds of marijuana, with a street value of between $40,000 and $60,000. Officials say the marijuana was shipped through the US Postal Service from a source city.
Baker was taken to the Catawba County Detention Facility and given a $32,500 bond. Lieutenant Jason Reid said they have seen a rise over the past month in controlled substances being mailed to Catawba County.
