Fire destroys multiple units at Gastonia storage facility

GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - Firefighters are trying to determine what caused a blaze that destroyed six units at a storage facility in Gastonia late Monday night.

It happened around 11 p.m. at the Morningstar Mini Storage on East Franklin Boulevard.

Along with the six units that were destroyed, 19 other units were damaged. Officials estimate the fire caused $100,000 in damages.

It took firefighters 30 minutes to fully extinguish the flames.

No injuries were reported. Fire officials are working to determine what started the fire.
