STANLY COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - Deputies in Stanly County say they have found a body they believe to be a teenager who was reported missing in late January.

Jaquarious Quamonte Kendall, 18, was reported missing on January 25 after family members found his vehicle abandoned near the James B. Garrison Bridge.

Around 8:30 Tuesday morning, deputies received a call from the area of Swift Island Road, near Lake Tillery, about what appeared to be a body floating near a boat dock.

Deputies said the body was about 400 yards from the James B. Garrison Bridge. Officials have not said how Kendall may have died, or if foul play is suspected.

Investigators said the body was sent to the Stanly Regional Medical Center to determine the cause of death.
