GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - A fire caused $23,000 worth of damage to a Gastonia home, according to the Gastonia Fire Department.

Fire crews arrived to the scene of a house fire just before 8 a.m. Thursday in the 500 block of South Trenton Street. When they arrived, crews say they saw dark smoke coming from the home.

A reported 21 firefighters were able to control the blaze in seven minutes.

The Gastonia Fire Department says no one was home at the time of the fire and didn't report any injuries from the scene.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire.
