GASTONIA, NC (WBTV) - A two-alarm fire burned through the top of a Gastonia automobile body shop on Thursday morning.
The fire broke out at the 20,000 square foot Earl Tindol Ford body shop at 2028 Glenwood Drive just before 7 a.m. Firefighters say smoke was coming from the metal building and around 30 cars were inside the repair shop at the time.
The fire burned through a sky light in the ceiling, which firefighters say helped provide natural ventilation. The fire was quickly extinguished and contained to the back of the building.
No injuries were reported.
The Gastonia Fire Department is working to determine what caused the fire. No word on the amount of damage the fire caused.
