Apartments catch fire in Concord

CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) - Apartments were in flames Thursday night in Concord.

The Concord Fire Department responded to a fire on the 200 block of Parkway Avenue NW.

When crews arrived they say they found heavy fire and smoke conditions. According to officials, it took 24 firefighters to control the blaze.

Concord fire says the fire started on the deck and spread up the back of the apartment building. No cause of the fire has been released.

The Red Cross was on scene working with occupants of the complex with housing needs.

There were no injuries reported.
