Boone teen accused of luring multiple children into restrooms
BOONE, NC (WBTV) - A parent in Boone told police a teen lured her child into a retail store restroom after he was arrested for doing the same thing last weekend.
William Francis Grubb, 19, was arrested last weekend after being accused of luring a 5-year-old into a Michael's bathroom.
According to police, last weekend a family was shopping at Michael's on Watauga Valley Drive Saturday morning when they realized their 5-year-old daughter was no longer with them. The family searched the store and found her in the restroom.
Police say they found out that the child had been lured into the bathroom by Grubb. He reportedly left the store before police got there, but police say he was quickly located by first responders.
Grubb was charged with a felony count of abduction of a child, felony count of indecent liberties with a minor, a felony count of kidnapping, and a felony count of indecent exposure.
Thursday, the Boone Police Department said a similar incident was reported to them. The victim's parents say Grubb similarly lured their child inside a retail business in Boone.
Grubb is being held under a $1,000,000 secured bond. He has not posted bond and is still in the Watauga County Detention Center.
Right now, police say it is unclear if the investigation will result in more criminal charges for Grubb. According to Lieutenant Chris Hatton of the Boon Police Department, they are looking into the new claims and are working with the District Attorney's office to determine if additional charges are needed.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
