CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - Tuesday, over 800 of those kids from four different counties got a special treat.

In the Second Harvest Food Bank's 19 county region in the Carolina's, there are over 180,000 kids living in poverty.

Second Harvest Food Bank, Campus Crest, and Cam Newton joined forces to help the fight against hunger. They partnered together for Cam's Thanksgiving Jam for a special kind of Thanksgiving party one group of kids will never forget.

Cam Newton, his family, and over 50 volunteers served a traditional Thanksgiving meal, provided entertainment for the kids ranging from a DJ, to face painters, to balloon artists.

They also made sure each child in attendance would be able to have a Thanksgiving meal for their family by providing a fried chicken, bag full of canned goods, and a pie.
