CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte may be the Best Big-City Bargain, but according to a WalletHub study, Concord, NC is one of the country's Fastest Growing Cities coming in at no. 7.

In 2013, a year with the slowest national population growth since the Great Depression, Concord proves to be a mighty contender in the national field of growth. The study's 2014 report found the Concord is the 7th fastest growing city in the United States, and the 5th fastest growing Small City.

The study was done between 2008 and 2013 and WalletHub says they were looking at 10 socio-economic standards like population growth rate and unemployment rate decrease to make their list.

Affordable housing and job opportunities make Concord attractive to transient individuals and ripe for growth.

North Carolina has 3 total cities in the top 15 including Greenville at no. 4, Asheville coming in at 13th and of course Concord.
