LINCOLN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) - A man's body was found in Lake Norman on Thursday after he reportedly drowned, according to deputies in Lincoln County.

The 53-year-old victim, later identified as Richard Terry Locklin, was pulled from the lake around 12:55 p.m. off of Dick Wilson Road.

Officials told WBTV that Locklin was found by neighbors about 45 feet from the shore in about six feet of water.

Deputies said he was last seen at a nearby home on the 4000 block of Dick Wilson Road on Wednesday night when he went jet skiing with friends on the lake.

Officials have ordered an autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Detectives with the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office say the investigation is ongoing.
