Woman wanted for stealing checks from mother now in jail

SALISBURY, NC (WBTV) - A week long search for a woman accused of stealing checks from her mother has ended, and now that woman is in the Rowan County Detention Center.

Bonnie Breedlove was arrested in Moooresville Monday afternoon.  She is charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and is being held under $16,000 bond.

Sixteen warrants had been issued for Bonnie Danette Breedlove for obtaining property by false pretenses.

According to investigators, Breedlove's mother was told by her bank that her account had been compromised.  They determined that her daughter had been writing checks of the mother's account and taking the money.

A total of 16 checks were taken from the mother between May 18 and July 8, totaling $2590.

Of the 16 checks, 9 were written to Bonnie Breedlove, 6 to cash, and 1 to Danette Breedlove.

The checks were cashed at the bank and at a check cashing business.

On July 10 deputies were called to the Mooresville area home of the mother.  The deputy located the mother's checkbook in Breedlove's truck, according to the report.
