DeAngelo Williams gives up first-class seat for elderly man in Marine uniform

CHARLOTTE, NC (WBTV) - DeAngelo Williams made headlines on Monday after he posted a photo of an elderly Marine, who he was about to surprise with his first-class seat on an airplane.

The Carolina Panther running back posted the photo on his Facebook and Twitter accounts saying "He just doesn't know it yet, but he will be sitting in this seat when he boards the plane. I always give up my 1st class seat."

He continued on Twitter with "I truly appreciate our troops."

The photo showed an older man decked out in his Marine dress blues, sitting in what appeared to be an airport gate waiting area.

The Facebook post was shared thousands of times with more than 118,000 likes by 9 pm Monday night.
