Police: Man stabbed pregnant wife, attacked unborn baby

CONCORD, NC (WBTV) - A 39-year-old man in Concord has been charged with assaulting an unborn child after officers say he stabbed his pregnant wife.
According to a Concord Police report, officers were called to a home along the 1000-block of Pine Circle Drive NW in Concord on Monday morning.
Officers were called to the home in reference to a stabbing in progress, according to the report.
When officers arrived a woman inside the home told them her husband, 39-year-old Mario Exequias Garay, had come into the home and attacked her. The woman is pregnant, according to the report.
Garay was charged with battery on an unborn child, assault on a female and communicating threats.
