A section of woods in Gaston County caught on fire when a vehicle on a back trail burst into flames.
According to the Gastonia Fire Department, firefighters were called to a section of woods along Diane Drive.
The fire started in the engine area of a pickup truck, firefighters say, as it was traveling down a logging trail behind a person's house in the area.
The fire quickly spread from the vehicle into the woods. The firefighters used two brush trucks to help contain the fire. It took nearly a hour and more than a dozen firefighters to get the fires under control.
There were no injuries reported. The vehicle was a total loss.
