SALISBURY, N.C. (AP) - A wide, suddent run of the wheel landed two in jail at a traffic stop in China Grove over the weekend.
According to the report from the Rowan Sheriff's Office, officers and a state trooper were working the traffic stop on N. Main St. near the Century 21 office,when they noticed a car that appeared to be turning left and coming towards them, but then made a wide right turn away from them.
The driver had the car on the wrong side of that road, and almost ran into a ditch, according to the report.
The car was stopped, and officers noticed what they described as the odor of marijuana.
A search of the car revealed 47 grams of pot, a handgun, drug paraphernalia, and more than $3000 cash.
The driver, Quenton Andrew Jones, was charged with maintaining a vehicle to distribute drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Passenger Brandon Goins was charged with simple possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia.
